Arcadian Health Appoints James Novello, Esq. as Senior Vice President and General Counsel

OAKLAND, CALIF., May 12, 2010

Arcadian Health announced yesterday that James (Jim) Novello, Esq. has been appointed as Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

Mr. Novello brings to Arcadian a strong background and extensive practice in the health care industry with experience in executing health plan management through negotiating, drafting and litigating government, commercial and provider contracts.

Most recently, Novello held the position of Vice President Assistant General Counsel for Molina health care, where he successfully implemented regulatory compliance, risk management and HIPAA government investigations. Prior to that, he served as the Senior health care Counsel at K&R Group representing clients in regulatory enforcement, handling provider and member disputes and providing legal advice regarding compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. Before joining K&R Group, he was the Chief Counsel and Chief of Enforcement for the California Department of Managed Health Care where he led the department’s enforcement team. He has also assumed multiple roles within the San Mateo Police Department including patrol officer, narcotics detective, homicide detective and S.W.A.T. team member.

A native of San Mateo, Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Organizational Management from the University of San Francisco and his Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law. Mr. Novello is admitted to the California State Bar.
